What Our Clients Say

“I had a very tough disability case that every other lawyer I contacted wouldn’t take the case. Eden and Rafferty took my case on and after four years, three denials, a hearing in front of the judge where she only partially ruled in my favor they got another hearing and I finally got the positive decision that I deserved from the day one. They did all of this to only get paid if I won which is why the other attorneys wouldn’t take the case. They saw that I was truly disabled and needed help to receive the benefits that I worked hard for and deserved. I am so thankful for their compassion and always positive outlook even when it looked pretty bad. I couldn’t recommend anyone better than Eden and Rafferty.
Thanks again.” – RJ. B.

“I found that they were very professional and very accurate. Attorney Eden is one of the best in the business; any questions I needed answered she would do her best to answer them. If she wasn’t sure she would make sure. Eden Rafferty is one of the top law firms around that I found. This is my opinion. And I should know. Thank you for everything Jane Eden, you are really good. It’s hard to find somebody that takes pride in their work. And you do it very very well.” – H.M.

You may think that qualifying for SSDI/SSI benefits is simple: You’re injured or disabled, so you must qualify.

But it’s almost never that simple. You must prove your disability and your need. And when applying for SSDI, you also have to show that you contributed to the Social Security system for a certain amount of time. In general, in order to qualify for SSI or SSDI you must be either:

  • Blind
  • Disabled
  • 65 or older
  • And have little income and resources

In order to qualify for SSDI, you have to have contributed to the social security system for a certain period of time. You also have to have a medical condition that Social Security considers disabling.

Some of the medical conditions that Social Security considers disabling are:

  • Cardiovascular issues like heart failure
  • Sensory issues like being hearing or vision impaired
  • Mental health disorders like depression, schizophrenia, or autism
  • Respiratory problems like COPd and asthma
  • Musculoskeletal issues like back injuries
  • Immune system problems like HIV/AIDS and lupus

The Social Security website has a list of common medical conditions that they consider disabling, but what if your condition isn’t on the list?

That’s ok.
